I am pleased to announce that today the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) announced its endorsement of my re-election to represent Bay, Lapeer and Tuscola counties during a second term in the Michigan Senate.
“After a careful review of the candidates we have found that Senator Green has a keen understanding of the problems facing family businesses and their employees,” Owens said. “We wish Mike success in the upcoming election and we look forward to continue working with him in the Michigan legislature.”
Founded in 1943 as a nonpartisan organization, NFIB is the nation’s leading small business advocacy group. NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the right of its members to own, operate and grow their businesses.
As a former small business owner, I personally understand the challenges of owning and operating a business. I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the NFIB, an organization that fights for the ability of its members to do business free from government interference at any level.
NFIB’s Michigan chapter actively supported the federal balanced budget amendment (BBA) legislation I introduced that was approved by the Legislature earlier this year. The group also joined me in support of major personal property tax reforms and in opposition to increases in the state minimum wage and gas and diesel taxes.
Michigan small business owners, workers and families are driving our economic recovery, not government. I am running for re-election to build upon the progress we have made over the last three years in removing tax, regulatory and other government obstacles that stand in their way.
Your support for the pro-jobs, pro-growth agenda I share with NFIB is deeply-appreciated! Please consider volunteering or financially supporting my campaign during the Republican Primary election season by visiting my website, www.MikeGreenforSenate.com.
